Re: Raffles - Hwa Chong United Shield & Dress Down Day From: Students' Council 01-08-06
To: All Students
Hey everyone!
Greetings! This coming Friday is our inaugural annual Raffles-
Hwachong United Shield 2006. Our school's very own soccer team will
be playing a full match against the soccer team from Raffles
Institution in the afternoon on our very own home ground to vie for
the coveted Shield.
The objective of this event is to promote friendly relations between
the two schools, providing an avenue of interaction and friendly
competition.
To show our support for the school's soccer team, we will also be
dressing down on this very day!
We just need you, and your teachers and friends, to wear colours
representing our school - red, orange and yellow. Over at RI's side,
their soccer players will be wearing black and white. Of course,
basic rules such as no flip-flops, no sleeveless shirts and no
clothes with offensive languages/images still apply.
What's more, the council will be selling specially made chokers at
the council room (beside the bookstore). There would only be 300
pieces of these limited edition chokers, so do remember to come down
and grab one! Chokers are sold at $5 each, much cheaper than
anywhere else.
The details of the event are as follows:
Date: 4th August 2006
Time: 3.30pm
Programme:
3.30pm - Spectators to be seated (free seating!)
4.00pm - Kick-Off
4.45pm - Half-time
5.00pm - Second Half
5.45pm - Prize Giving Ceremony
6.00pm - Dismissal
During the event, councillors will be going around to sell some
bites and drinks for your enjoyment. There are also attractive
prizes to be won through the half-time games!
Most of you would be excused from your EP3 unless there are special
instructions from the respective EP3 teachers-in-charge. Thus, we
need all of you to come down in your best-looking casual wear, and
support your own schoolmates for the Raffles-Hwachong United Shield
2006!
High School Council 2006
omg omg!
kwangyueh just told me to see this emb post by our school council
and the irony is we were just discussing today why nothing is yet announced about the coming match
yeah if we lose, it's gonna be so damn embarrassing, bocs most probably the whole sch's coming down and watch, and raffles
thr's gonna be a post-match dinner after that
they say this game is to promote friendly relations between the two schools, providing an avenue of interaction and friendly competition, but i can confirm for sure this game will be as nasty and dirty as all other games
they say friendly, bullshit lah
when the pride of our school is at stake
and the principals having to forced a smile, shaking hands after the game
maybe this is the last thing i can do for the school, i don't know
the raffles boys train at our school field today
so we watched them train after two hours of intense studying
iype: "omg, they so gonna trash already"
kwangyueh: "what the fuck, they are all so tall lah"
gino: "don't worry, our team got two indians, one portugense, one myanmmar, one japanese"
me: "lol, cosmopolitan team"
fok and rest all arguing how we were going to lose, when we just sitting along on the slope where there were a craving of our school's motto "zi qiang bu xi"
in my opinion, height in a game is relative
yes, height may win headers
but height can never win vision, creativity, determination, agility, speed or skill
so stop complaining,
win the game for hwachong!"when your mind is not ready, you might as well not make it to the starting line"
while the star of hope she leaves him; 5:24 PM
